Holly Hansen is a fine artist working in Boston. Growing up on Cape Cod, Holly’s work is heavily informed by the seaside landscape and its culture. Holly recieved a BFA with a concentration in Printmaking from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where she became proficient in the areas of intaglio, etching, lithography, silkscreen, and relief. At MassArt, Holly was able to work with artists such as Liliana Porter, Paula Wilson, and Winifred Rembert in the Master Print Series. Her work has recieved an Honorable Mention from the President Dawn Barett.
As a young working artist, Holly's practice reflects the idea that we must constantly push ourselves to move forward with our concepts. She relies on personal experience to create effective mood and atmosphere in her pieces. With emphasis on color, Holly’s pieces utilize landscape to create composition while remaining abstracted to incorporate memory and emotion.
