Often times, we inspire our children’s careers, shaping their futures with our interests and influence. But sometimes, like in Marcela Cortes’ case, our children shape our careers. Marcela’s little ones, Julian and Isabel, were notoriously picky dressers, refusing to get spiffy for family events and celebrations. So, she decided the best way to encourage them to look presentable was to make clothes that were fun and versatile. Before long, Marcela’s designs were noticed by other parents, so she decided to turn her passion into a business. With the success of her incognito superhero bow-cape, she’s created more imaginative takes on traditional clothing and toys. She lives and designs in Atlanta, Georgia.
