A return to slow, hands-on craftsmanship defines Lucy Barna's creative process. Each of her pieces starts with a sketch. "I am particularly drawn to asymmetrical lines and patterns, and continually draw new inspiration from nature's patterns, the movement of water, and modern, organic expressions of design," she says. Then, working out of her studio on the north Oregon coast, she brings her vision to life by sawing and hammering sheets of metal by hand. She aspires to create original designs that inspire delight, awe, and appreciation from the wearer.
