“I see the balance of function and beauty as an underlying guide to all of my pottery.”

When he was 19, Jason Silverman took his first pottery class at the Rhode Island School of Design. When he was halfway through his first attempt at throwing on a wheel, he was hooked. Throughout his time at RISD, Jason honed many technical skills and explored the art of glaze making. He's particularly drawn to and influenced by Chinese Chin Dynasty techniques and colors, which are usually wide, smooth, and vibrant. "I see the balance of function and beauty as an underlying guide to all of my pottery," he says. Should you purchase one of Jason's unique designs, look for his signature, subtle swirl found in the work's base. He lives and creates in Glenside, Pennsylvania.
