Greenwich Village-based artist and designer Laura Lobdell has lived in California and Hong Kong, and currently resides in New York with her Japanese Chin named Xiao. Lobdell creates jewelry for the free-spirited woman. A woman who believes in luck, eats candy and plays with fire. Her work is witty, but has a luxurious weight to it.
In addition to her jewelry, Lobdell makes paintings and sculptures in her Williamsburg art studio. She has had solo shows at DCKT Contemporary in New York and The National Arts Club of Washington, D.C., and has exhibited at Third Streaming, the Bronx Museum of the Arts, the Louis Stern Gallery in Los Angeles and the Art Institute of Chicago.
A graduate of the University of Southern California, Lobdell also holds an M.F.A. from the School of Visual Arts. She is an Annual Board Member of Art in General and, since participating in the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture artist residency in Maine, a member of the Skowhegan Alliance for scholarship fundraising. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga and walking from her studio to her store in the West Village.
