When housed in such an ornate container, sticks will be easy to spot on the well-dressed dinner table or picnic spread. Decked out with geometric patterns, the stoneware sheath has a playfully coiled handle that can be picked up with ease when it's time to apply a pat of butter. Handmade in Clifton, Virginia.

Comments about UncommonGoods Slip Trailed Butter Dish:

While this is a lovely piece of ceramic art, there are a couple of problems with bottom of this butter dish. The underside of the bottom is unglazed and will scratch surfaces. The bottom is also flat which means it does not have a raised edge or lip that you can easily grasp so you end up having to slide the unglazed underside on whatever surface it is on - hence the scratching from the unglazed surface. Unfortunate and odd that it would not be glazed but it is not useful the way it is made unless you never plan to move it.
