Insults With Intelligence

We all know someone who deserves to be dubbed a "penurious and indubitate beggar." And from time to time, you may be tempted to say that "he has not so much brain as ear-wax." This rollicking infographic is chock-full of such colorful insults from Shakespeare, the playwright who practically invented the art of the poetic put-down. Designer Tim Sanders culled the Oxford Complete Shakespeare to compile an endlessly entertaining word map of the Bard's boisterous, bawdy jabs, each one a mini-masterpiece of raunchy, rancorous Renaissance wit. The four-color, offset-printed poster on 100 lb., acid-free, FSC-certified paper makes the perfect reference and decor for an astute office, library, or thespian lounge. Made in Seattle.

Add our solid walnut framing rails that magnetically hold your print in place. Easy to install and reuse, they’re a cleverly designed solution for print display.

Tim and Aurelia Sanders think people should enjoy more mirth. They mixed together data visualization, writing, and humor to create artwork that was smart as well as funny. Their process begins with a mix of ideas and sketches, which are gradually refined through research, experimentation, and "occasional hair pulling." Timothy employs his background as an art director and playwright, and Aurelia keeps their projects well edited and on track. "It's a great pleasure to see a passerby stop at one of our posters, lean in close, and start to laugh," they say.

Have a peek at Tim's sketchbooks to see how his thought process works as he creates new posters.

Since it's Shakespearean insult chart, it's the perfect gift for my friend who has been studying English literature. When we received the poster, the paper quality was great, packaging was perfect, and it's super sweet that it comes with an instruction that teaches you hou to properly unroll it. However, when I was shopping this online, I noticed that there is a huge HUGE price difference between the 2 options that the website offers, which are framed and unframed. It didn't make much sense to me, not that I don't think that it's unreasonable to have a price difference between the two, it's just I don't think it's reasonable to have a gap that big.

The scroll like design and parchment like paper work perfectly here. Together they make it more of a period piece. It's very eye catching.
