Shandi McConnell earned her BFA in Sculpture from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. All of her work is designed with her husband, Casey, in their backyard studio.

As a sculptor Shandi has experimented with nearly every medium available. She fell in love with clay after teaching a ceramics class at a community college - nothing seemed to bring her ideas to life quite like it. Shandi enjoys working with porcelain in particular, and loves the way it emphasizes the colors of her glazes and designs. Shandi is inspired by nature, printed fabrics, wallpapers and patterns.

          This product is absolutely darling. The quality is very good. It does not come with toothpicks, however, I found transparent turquois plastic toothpicks that would compliment this nicely.

          My mother-in-law in Texas loves: to entertain, artistic and whimsical items, and is practical. She can be difficult to shop for as she needs nothing. This item was appealing to her on every level. She loved being able to use it right away for company, and it turned out to be a fabulous conversation piece
