So Hot Right Now
You know the phrase "get it while it's hot"? We're about to take all the urgency out of enjoying a fresh-baked brie or French toast straight from the oven. Our secret: this platter. Arra David and Anne Johnson handcraft the piece from found beach stones and reclaimed granite, which holds the temperature like that's its job. Place the design in the oven before serving hot food like melty dips and casseroles. Or freeze it ahead of your best chilled creations, like a cheese plate with fresh fruit. A thoughtful gift for your favorite hostess, the piece also puts the "warm" in housewarming gift. Handmade in Windham, New Hampshire.
For Hot Foods: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. "Bake" tray for 15 minutes. It will be approximately 195 degrees for one hour and will cool to about 104 degrees after that.
For Cold Foods: Chill the tray in the freezer for two hours. It will be approximately 24 degrees for one hour and will warm to 60 degrees after that.
We took a road trip to visit Anne and Arra in New Hampshire, where they welcomed us with hard cider and put us straight to work. See the whole story on our blog.
Due to the recycled and handmade nature of this item, each is unique and will vary.
