Shujan Bertrand's designs have made an impact on brands around the globe, translating user-centered insights into new products. She has a stellar background in design for soft goods, advanced product development, design research, and strategy for many international brands, including Incase at the launch of the iPad. For one brand, Shujan focused on enriching workplace user experiences and designing furniture through a deeper understanding of sensory brain science and issues of well-being.
Shujan’s inspiration for the à plat collection came from a single moment of giving flowers to a dear friend: the bouquet was wrapped in noisy paper and cellophane, leading to the insight that flowers should be carried beautifully, quietly and presented as a meaningful gift. With this inspiration, Shujan committed herself to elevating the gifting experience for flowers, food, wine and bread.
