Hi,
Head to the clubhouse for drinks, with a bottle opener handmade from a vintage wooden tennis racquet. Interesting and unique with wonderful textures and details, this bottle opener is perfect for preps and sports nuts alike. Created by designer Ward Wallau. Made in USA and Hong Kong.

Disappointed when the MTA filled in the "Y" cutout of their classic subway tokens, Ward Wallau was inspired to find a fun way to incorporate the unaltered tokens into cufflinks. He wanted to prove to the MTA that the original tokens were worthy of celebrating and repurposing and, after 11 years of "no," Ward became the first licensee of the New York City MTA. Since that time, this "authenticity hound," has assembled and grew his team of artisans, production staff, and authenticators in Berkeley, California, where they re-imagine nostalgic artifacts as unique gifts that tell a story. Ward loves breathing new life into things that already exist, be it letterpress blocks, a wooden seat from Wrigley Field, or a bat broken at a Major League baseball game. "This business is ever-challenging, dynamic, and satisfying," he says. "It's not a good day if you don't learn something new!"

A tad expensive but splurged and dad was very happy with its unique design. Great gift for the tennis fan that has everything.

Comments about UncommonGoods Recycled Tennis Racquet Bottle Opener:
I have purchased both the baseball bat bottle opener as a birthday gift for my boyfriend and the tennis racquet bottle opener as a father's day gift for my dad. Both have been huge hits and are often commented on by guests!
Service and delivery comments:
The first time I ordered the tennis racquet bottle opener, I received a women's racquet. I returned it and requested a mens racquet the second time.

Comments about UncommonGoods Recycled Tennis Racquet Bottle Opener:
This is a great gift for any tennis/sports fans and really anyone that drinks beer. I've owned one for years and was relieved to find them quick and easy to order when buying a gift for my groomsmen that would remind them of me (tennis nut) and yet be practical so it receives usage. Only downside is that you may receive a women's racquet, but that was only one of three I ordered and it wasn't overtly so.
Service and delivery comments:
Quick delivery, even around Christmas.

Comments about UncommonGoods Recycled Tennis Racquet Bottle Opener:
If you're a tennis fan, it's a fun gift and a great conversation piece. Unfortunately, you can't pick the design and you are likely to get one endorsing a female player with a more feminine look. Not what most men would be happy to use sitting around drinking beer with their friends.
Service and delivery comments:
The tennis racquet bottle opener was intended for my husband. The first one I received was a Chris Evert "Miss Chris" styled racquet which I knew he would not like. Since obviously each racquet is a one-of-a-kind and you get what you get, I couldn't blame Uncommon Goods for not reading my mind. I returned it and explained in the "reason for return" section it would be embarrassing for a man to use and could they possibly send me another more like represented in the picture. When I got the second one, just in time for Christmas, it turned out to be another Chris Evert racquet. I wish your staff would read the reason for an exchange, but maybe it's all you've got left. I'll just return it this time. Thanks anyway.

Comments about UncommonGoods Recycled Tennis Racquet Bottle Opener:
You can't choose what type of racquet it's made from. First one I bought as a gift was perfect, made from a generic older Wilson model. Second one I bought (for male tennis pro) was the "Chris Evert American Star" model - and you just can't give that to a guy. It even looked girly. I called and asked if they had ANY other racquet handles and was told no, so I had to return it.
Can only recommend with warning.
