No Tractors Were Harmed

Trade your hunting trophy for a farming trophy with this recycled farm equipment deer head. Handmade in Pennsylvania by Ben and Kate Gatski. Each is one-of-a-kind and will vary.

Each piece is finished with a clear, light metal enamel. You can maintain your piece outdoors by applying this clear coating each year (available in a spray can at your local hardware store) or you can let the piece develop a pleasant rusty patina.

Ben and Kate Gatski

Ben and Kate Gatski want to honor agriculture through art. They hand select old machinery found on local farms. The process involves tearing apart large equipment to get smaller parts for the sculptures.

Both Ben and Kate worked in agriculture prior to their current work. Ben started his own organic dairy business at 19. And Kate worked for the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture, which helps to inform farmers about organic and sustainable techniques. They began their metal business in 2004.

Comments about Recycled Farm Machinery Deer:

Love our new addition! Sparky (yes, we named him) sits proudly over a major painting in the living room, overseeing all that goes on within our walls. The only negative comment I have is that the catalog pic shows that he has beautifully arched wide-set antlers, but what I got was antlers with an almost right angle bend. Not as flowing or pretty.
