Hi,
This interactive artwork by Oliver Jeffers offers a unique way to map your travels around the contiguous United States. Jeffers painted the original in acrylic paint on a piece of reclaimed wood, and it has been reproduced on double-weight paper. Each print is hand-signed, embossed with an exclusive seal, and mailed in a tube to ensure its arrival in pristine condition. This print comes with a tin of 101 round-headed pins--100 orange pins to record your travels, and one extra-large blue pin to mark your headquarters. Also included are sturdy binder clips and nails for hanging, and a piece of self-healing cork backing to hold the pins in place. Made in Brooklyn, New York.
From figurative painting and installation to illustration and picture-book making, Oliver Jeffers' work takes many forms. His distinctive paintings have been exhibited in galleries worldwide, and his award-winning picture books have been translated into over 30 languages. Jeffers won a NY Emmy in 2010 for his collaborative work with the artist and director Mac Premo. In 2013 Jeffers co-directed the video for U2's Ordinary Love with Premo, and more recently helped to art direct U2's Innocence and Experience World Tour. Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Jeffers now lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.

My daughter is graduating from college this year. She is an avid traveler. This is a beautiful piece that will help her keep track of her journeys. The instructions I received stated the cork board was adhesive backed. It is not, which is fine. The clips work. I will be buying a thicker backing though and adhering it to make the piece more sturdy. I love it. I hope my girl does as well!

I bought this for myself and my husband since we are big travelers. I thought this would be an awesome way to display where we've been and where we want to go. Like another reviewer said, the "reclaimed wood canvas" is SO realistic online (and in the catalog) that I didn't realize that I'd be getting only a print.
Because it's only a print, you can't just stick the pushpins in it. So, I went to a craft store and bought a roll of cork board, and cut it to the exact size of the print, and clipped it to the back. Works great.
My only other issues with this: Hawaii, Alaska, Washington, DC, and the teritories (Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Guam, etc) are not on the map, which is pretty disappointing, consdiering those are places that we'd like to mark on our map.
That being said, the colors are vibrant and gorgeous and the printing is done so well. It truly is a piece of art. I just wish it was more "ready to use" out of the gate, vs. having to purchase more items to make it work.

This is not just a map, it definitely falls into the "work of art" category. I love the design and the size. Although it didn't bother me, some people may be unhappy that Alaska and Hawaii are only represented by an arrow.

It is vibrant but much smaller than we were expecting. Be sure and read dimensions as we dI'd not. It looks like it would be larger.not worth the price.

Bought this for my husband. We recently began traveling around the States, and after our last trip through the South, he mentioned he wanted to get a map so that we could keep track of where we've been. I thought this map would be push-pin ready, but it's not. It needs to be mounted on corkboard, laminated, etc. Description stating "reclaimed wood canvas" is misleading, since I thought it would have some sort of thickness/substance to it so that you could push the pins in without some sort of backing. Also, size stated is not the size of the actual map but the map and the white border. Taking it to a framing shop to see what kind of matting/frame this can be adhered to. Would like to display on the mantel of fireplace, since the piece is a lovely piece of art.

I'm using this as a Family Story, pinning where we met, where we've moved to and vacations. I'm including written tags in the white margin to describe our family adventures. I think my whole family will enjoy it. I love the quality of the paper and the vivid colors.

Beautiful art; good quality paper. Love the earthy colors. I laminated it to put in my office and put push pins where my national business partners are located. I took a pic and use it as my cover photo for my Facebook timeline. Gets LOTS of positive comments! :)
