Annie Lebowitz. Ansel Adams. Your little one. The journey to becoming the next acclaimed photographer, or just to more creative play, begins with this clever device. Blending modern technology and an old-school shutter, the design features a place to slide your old Apple or Android phone in the back. Once your mini paparazzo starts snapping, they can use the Pixlplay app to add silly filters like bunny ears on Dad and a bowtie on Boots the cat. Designed by JP Stoops in San Francisco, California. Made in China.

Big toy companies have nothing on designer JP Stoops. He left his gig at a toy chain so he could run free with his creative ideas like the Pixlplay camera. Android App not working?

I love the physical hardware of the camera, but I have an Android and the app doesn't work! The "take picture" button activates the volume button instead of taking a picture. Areas in the app say "Coming soon." Couldn't get it work which means, it's sat on my desk for 3 months.

Don't bother

This product isn't useful. I'm writing this review so others don't waste their money. Basically it is an oversized iPhone case for photos only, so you've reduced a multi function device to one use only - taking photos. The plastic over the back screen is frustrating because it reduces the touch screen sensitivity to the point my child is frustrated. We have to open the back to turn on the phones camera function and open it again to turn it off. You have to take your phone out of any protective case to use this toy which increases the risk of breaking your old phone. Not satisfied at all.

Absolutely LOVE this camera

Both of my kids LOVE this toy, the 4 yr old took to it right away, and its so durable, I wasn't worried to give the 2 yr old a turn too!

So much fun!

We love to watch this toy in use. Our granddaughter has a ball trying to get the dogs to pose. She runs around everywhere saying cheese. I wish the button on top took the picture instead of zooming.

My grown up friends want this camera!

For our little guy, its near perfect. As a parent we have to unlock he smart phone through the plastic screen, which can be a challenge, but it opens and closes easily to access the touch screen. The phone has an exterior button that allows the kids to not have to use the touchscreen! The interface is pretty cool!!

Cute for little kids

Nice product for turning a old cell phone into a kid's camera but not interesting enough for my 12 year old daughter.
