Bring the signature style of the New York City subway to your home with these personalized house signs. Printed directly on one continuous tile, they faithfully reproduce the color and authentic, photographic detail of the classic station mosaics that inspired them. Add your family name, house number, or any combination of characters (character limits vary with size) to create a custom "station" that you call home.

From Times Square to the Upper East Side, the New York City subway system connects all corners of the Big Apple with a history and aesthetic all its own. For a certain generation of New Yorkers, the decorative details of its famous stations are synonymous with metropolitan romance. Even talk of the transit companies that preceded the MTA—the IRT, BMT, and IND—can stir a mix of civic pride and nostalgia.

Amid the glitz of Times Square, the architectural elements of its subway station are unmistakable symbols of New York's vibrant urban fabric. The original sign that inspired this tile is from the Shuttle station at Times Sq-42 St, which opened in 1904 as part of the first subway in New York. The mosaics were designed by George L. Heins and Christopher Grant LaFarge in the Beaux Arts style.

Tiles made in Brazil or Spain; printed and kiln fired in Paramount, California. Signs come with D ring(s) attached for wall mounting, or with optional powder coated steel stakes (made in California) for freestanding installation on a lawn or garden.

Designs officially licensed by the MTA.

Comments about UncommonGoods Personalized House Sign - Times Square Subway:

It is somewhat different that appeared on the website. I thought the sign would be made of mosaic subway tile; not painted to look like mosaic subway tile. Because of this, I am fairly disappointed in the product; but not the website!! The people at your company are extremely helpful and courteous. I will continue to shop your site and catalog.

Comments about UncommonGoods Personalized House Sign - Times Square Subway:

This house number/name marker is a faithful reproduction of the Times Squar e subway signs in New York City. My husband is a train/MTA buff and works in Times Square so it was a perfect gift. I've looked into having actual mosaic signs made and they are very expensive but this is a nice alternative - plus it's weather-resistant and can be used outdoors with the ground stake to make a unique house marker. I would love to see it in an even larger size so it could be visualized from the street but my husband loved it and he is hard to buy for so I was pleased!

Comments about UncommonGoods Personalized House Sign - Times Square Subway:

It's a cute, small ... emphasis on small ... rendering of a subway sign. Mine hangs inside. It's not big enough to be used as a serious house marker on the outside.

I was very excited for this item to arrive in the mail. You can imagine my disappointment to find a sticker slapped on top of a tile when I opened the box. I was mortified to give this as a gift, but unfortunately I was out of time. A case of poor planning on my part. This item is rather cheap looking and overpriced. I'm very surprised uncommongoods carries a product like this. I have purchased from them numerous times and was very much so impressed by the quality goods I received. I had this item customized with a name and was unable to return it. There are many wonderful products on this website. This item is not one of them.

Comments about UncommonGoods Personalized House Sign - Times Square Subway:

I was wasn't happy with the way it looks for the money that I paid. Also came cracked in half and had to get another delivered. Then when it came I put it in the stand and the frame was not level so I had to call for another frame and I am still waiting. Got this because my husband retired from the MTA but I don't think it is worth the money. He was not happy when he saw how it looked for the money also. Would be a lot nicer and worth the money if it were in small real tiles like the subway station. Wanted a piece of home on my front lawn.

                    Service and delivery comments:

The way it was packed it came cracked in half. Then when I received the new one the frame was bent. I didn't know this until I put the new sign into the frame and it swayed back and forth. Now I am waiting for a new frame so I can put it out. But I am not happy with this product.

Comments about UncommonGoods Personalized House Sign - Times Square Subway:

It's pretty but I wish it had more of a mosaic feel. It's a little shiny. I like the fact that it is unlikely anyone else near me will understand its meaning (I am sooooo homesick and Times Square used to be my station!) nor have one. The medium size comes with two d-rings and it comes with very simple instructions.

I ordered it, my husband paid for it (and will install it because he's taller), and our house needed an address marker upgrade from the 1970's lettering.
