Peace Signs

No matter where you live or what language you speak, the hope for peace is a wish universally understood and wholly embraced. Inspiring, hopeful, and beautiful, Emilie Shapiro's bracelet proudly displays this ubiquitous concept by displaying a prayer for world peace in English, Arabic, Spanish, and Hebrew. The sentence "may peace prevail on earth" is inscribed onto a band of recycled white bronze handcrafted using the lost-wax technique. Handmade in New York.

Emilie Shapiro

Emilie Shapiro is a traditionally trained metalsmith who uses contemporary techniques and experimentation to guide her through her work. Working mainly in recycled silver, bronze, nickel-free brass & copper, she also uses gemstones for their transcendant qualities. Emilie considers herself an alchemist - instilling value, ideas and ideals into her pieces for the wearer to carry on. All of her work is hand crafted in her studio in New York City. "Wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure" - Paolo Coehlo

Emilie received her B.F.A. in Art + Design with a concentration in jewelry and metalsmithing from Syracuse University. She also studied at Alchimia, a contemporary school of jewelry in Florence, Italy with artists Peter Bauhuis, Yoko Shimizu, and Marzia Rossi. Before launching her own jewelry line - Emilie worked as the Production Manager at Pamela Love and Allforthemountain. Emilie is also a jewelry instructor at Liloveve Jewelry Studio in Brooklyn, teaches various jewelry workshops around the Greater NY area and private jewelry lessons in her Brooklyn studio. Emilie uses metal as her main material to convey her ideas as wearable art.
