It's All in the Spin
Weaving together sustainable practices and eye-popping patterns, this snuggly pair is made from 100% recycled cotton yarn that's been re-spun into a bold blue and gold jacquard print. The socks were inspired by Fernhill Park, a favorite of local families that has its own rebirth story: According to rumor, the land was used as a dumping ground for stolen cars until Portland Parks & Recreation rode to the rescue and transformed the valley of vandals into a beautiful park for everyone to enjoy.
The process begins with remnants from t-shirt factories that would normally be destined for the landfill, which are then ground down and re-born as skeins of vibrant yarn, a practice that eliminates the need for farmland and the harmful dyes and chemicals used to treat virgin cotton. The manufacturers also adhere to a "zero waste" policy, utilizing scraps for new products and making the most of the resources at hand. Made in Portland, Oregon.
For every pair of socks sold, Sidekick donates a pair to someone in need.
