I got this as a Father's day gift for my husband, knowing that he would like something that would promote family time. We all love this game! It is simple enough for our five year old to play and provides enough entertainment for the whole family. We all enjoyed playing this game over and over.

Purchased for my 4 kids for family game nights. Their ages are 14, 12, 6, and 3. I had hoped it would be something they could all enjoy despite their varying ages and skill levels.

The first thing we noticed as we were inserting the sticks is that the basket is constructed of fairly flimsy, thin wood. We were concerned about breaking the slats of the basket accidentally. We also noticed that it wasn't easy to get the sticks to stay in place - they either slid out too easily, or we were concerned about breaking the basket by wedging them in too tightly.

Once the sticks were in place, we dropped the balls in on top and immediately realized that playing the game would take less than 2 minutes per round. This was after it took us more like 5 minutes to set it up.

During play, we had a hard time finding a way to play the game that was easy to keep up with. We tried assigning one color stick to each player, but couldn't figure out a goal. Was the goal to remove all your sticks without making a ball fall? Was the goal to make sure your color balls did not fall? Was it to make sure they did fall? Was the goal to keep count of how many balls each player dropped while removing sticks? It was difficult to keep count of how many balls fell each time since they come down quickly, unless you're writing it down, forget it.

In the end, I think this game was a disappointment for the price. My guess is that if we ever get it out again, the basket will get broken within a couple of uses. I wouldn't buy this again.

My son is three and he has fun with this and it is a good tool to teach that you cannot win every time. He does grow bored with it and is not yet sophisticated enough to plan the "correct" sticks to pull, but this game will grow with him.
