Read the Fine Print

These novel posters turn iconic pieces of literature inside out by using the text itself to illustrate the story. Each one uses the complete text of a favorite book to create a bold a silhouette of one of their instantly recognizable characters. Dorothy and her pals skip through their journey to meet The Wizard of Oz. Alice from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland attempts a round of flamingo croquet. Headstrong romantics Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy draw together near the end of Pride and Prejudice, while Daisy Buchanan stands at the heart of The Great Gatsby, looking tragically chic. In The Odyssey the hero, Odysseus, cleverly evades the wrath of Poseidon. Carefully arranged, the entire text of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is arranged into portraits of Huck and Jim fishing on a riverbank. The posters are high quality prints of black ink on White Porcelain silk cover paper, and while the print is very small--it is entirely legible! A startling feat of both literature and design. Neenah was a classics scholar in college, and The Odyessy was her favorite area of study. This poster is just beautiful--so simple and lovely, and perfectly framed--and obviously perfect for her. Thank you for a wonderful transaction. I think it's a gift she will never forget.

Great Idea--Huck Finn is a little light!

4

I love love love the idea. I poured over the different options. I finally decided Huck Finn was the best fit for me. it's beautifully framed--it's a great piece... My only complaint is that the text is VERY SMALL and VERY LIGHT. (actually the smallness doesn't really matter--but it's so so light. if it was a little darker, it would have accented it better. ) Is suspect the other pictures that didn't show so light in the product description have larger type. it would have been nice to be able to recognize it as such. so, I'm a little disappointed. and this has deterred me from purchasing another one. but I sill like it.

What a "Novel" Idea!!

4

I bought 2 of these posters: "Wizard of Oz" for myself and "Huckleberry Finn" for my husband, as "Wizard of Oz" is my all time favorite movie and my husband has always loved "Huck," and all the classics! Both posters came with the top corner considerably bent because of the way the packing tissue was jammed into the cylinder (I'm hoping when I frame them it won't be noticeable). The "Huck" poster was much larger than the "Wizard of Oz" poster and in my opinion it should have been just the opposite, for eye appeal. The "design/white" area on the "Wizard of Oz" poster is MUCH larger than the "design/white" area on the "Huck" poster, so the "Huck" poster would have looked much better aesthetically on a smaller poster and the "Wizard of Oz" poster, having a larger "design/white" area, would have looked much better in the larger size of the "Huck" poster. I'm hoping I can have a custom frame made for the "Huck" poster to cover more of the text, since my husband prefers the white design area much better than having the text of the book uncovered.

The poster will be easy to frame and hang. I don't think the text is too small or too hard to read. Great for bibliophiles!

Happy Customer

I purchased The Great Gatsby poster. The size is impressive, and makes a wonderful statement on my living room wall. The print is extremely tiny - most guests have to practically put their faces against the frame glass to actually read the text, but in general I've gotten compliments from everyone who has seen it. I would say the only problem is that the poster isn't high enough contrast - instead of a black area of text with a the picture made out of white negative space, it's more like a gray area of the text, so the picture wasn't as sharp as I'd expected.

Jane Austen's work

My daughter is a huge Jane Austen fan, and while when I first unrolled it, considered sending it back, when it is put in a frame, the print was readable, though still tiny. I think it would be terrific if the printing could be a shade darker.
