For a former student of physics, Alexander Albanese sure knows a heck of a lot about brewing coffee. In fact, his coffee press was the subject of his graduate thesis. Though his initial quest was simply to make an easier-to-clean French press, his designs soon inspired a completely new way of brewing coffee. And the name? Oh, that came from his reaction to folks saying, "huh, looks like you're making a French press" when they saw parts for it coming off the lathe at Northwestern University. Say it with us now: It's not a French press. Great job; you've got it down.
