Once in a Blue Moose
Give the great outdoors a place of honor in your decor with this charming, upcycled moose. It comes your way from the wilds of rural Pennsylvania, where the husband-and-wife team of Ben and Kate Gatski create rustic animal sculptures from reclaimed, weathered farm machinery in their barn workshop. They first draw the moose’s outlines onto sheet steel and cut it out by hand, sprucing up the antlers with a coat of blue milk paint, and mounting the assembled head onto the disk of a corn planter. The piece is sealed with a water-based enamel to help preserve its coloring. Displayed inside or out, the charming creature brings a touch of humor to the decor of your home, cabin or office. Made in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.

Ben and Kate Gatski
Ben and Kate Gatski want to honor agriculture through art. They hand select old machinery found on local farms. The process involves tearing apart large equipment to get smaller parts for the sculptures.
Both Ben and Kate worked in agriculture prior to their current work. Ben started his own organic dairy business at 19. And Kate worked for the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture, which helps to inform farmers about organic and sustainable techniques. They began their metal business in 2004.
