All Around the Mulberry Clock
David Stepan remembers seeing old tree trunks in a museum as a kid and being impressed by the dates marked along the growth rings: "I was thrilled with how that marked and measured time, and I can't help but count the rings even now." Not only does he count them, he embeds them in his design, letting others tell time with his beautiful wooden clock.
By inlaying growth ring sections of mulberry wood in a rich black walnut base, David creates a clock face that represents the passage of time both symbolically and figuratively. Like the trees used to make them, each piece is one of a kind, making it an extra special gift for a wedding or anniversary (traditionally, wood is given on year five). Handmade in Canada.
Due to the handmade nature of this item, each is unique and will vary.
