Hold the Phone
"I was frustrated at having to ask friends and family members to put down their mobile phones so we could connect," says Yvonne Israel-O'Hare. Her solution—an elegant place to deposit devices—came to her while reminiscing about trips to Hawaii, where signs often gently encourage guests to take off their shoes at the door. Like those signs, Yvonne's phone holder is a physical reminder to be mindful of the space you're in. Handmade of rich merino wool, it features four phone-sized pockets and one large pocket (big enough for a small tablet). Each pocket even includes a small slit in the back to let charging cords through. Hang it on a coat hook, door knob, or right on the wall as a thoughtful way to let folks know your home is a place to disconnect from the internet and connect with each other. Handmade in San Francisco.
