Vintage Brew

For the finale of a great meal, you may be torn between the accompaniment of another glass of wine, or a comforting cup of coffee. But why not have both? These merlot-infused beans make the perfect after-dinner brew. The 100% Arabica beans are aged in oak wine barrels for a unique profile of fresh, red berry flavors and subtle hints of currants and blackberries. For the best flavor, add a small amount of sugar to this medium roast coffee. Caffeinated, but contains no alcohol. Made by John Jenkins in Orange, Virginia.

John, Rhonda and Harrison Jenkins have a passion for all things coffee and a love of fine wines. The purchase of a micro coffee roastery in the heart of Virginia’s wine country has allowed them to explore their life-long love of coffee among one of the fastest growing wine producing regions in the country.

Visiting Virginia’s wineries spawned the idea of infusing finely roasted coffee beans in the very barrels that the wine had been aged in. The result is the newest addition to a line of fine coffees from around the world. Extensive travel has allowed them to enjoy and hone their love of the tastes and traditions of coffee here and abroad. These unique flavors are carefully created in their unique coffee offerings.

Bought this for my dad, who loves coffee and wine, especially Merlot. Unfortunately the flavor was very unsophisticated--I drank some and it reminded me of a Grapple, those grape-flavored apples popular in the early 2000s.

Our family loves trying new things, so I was really excited to showcase this awesome creative idea. However, I was very disappointed in the flavor of this coffee. It tasted like someone poured some artificial grape flavoring in the coffee. Would not buy again.

I sent this product to a good friend of mine who was going through a tough time. She was ECSTATIC at the gift, and said it was a lovely brew to use on the weekend! I love the idea of infusing coffee beans with wine and/or spirits, and this is the best product on the market for it.

Comments about UncommonGoods Merlot Infused Coffee:

Smells like Dimetapp, tastes like fruity soil. I was incredibly disappointed when I tried this. I took one sip and couldn't bare to take another. The smell alone is off putting.

Comments about UncommonGoods Merlot Infused Coffee:

I bought this for my sister-in-law. She said it has good wine flavor with a hint of sweetness. Opinion, instead of drinking multiple cups of this coffee in the morning, it is better to drink it with or after dinner.

Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was on time. I wish UPS would deliver instead of transferring it to the local post office before reaching it's final destination.

Comments about UncommonGoods Merlot Infused Coffee:

This is a cool idea, but My girlfriend and I only had a cup each. I got it for her as a gift and was pretty disappointed. It tasted more like grape juice to me. I'm not a coffee snob, but I did not care for the flavor at all.
