Ken Lau started his profession as a clock designer in 1957. He was a pioneer in using natural materials such as wood and stone for designer clocks. A decade later, he began designing watches in addition to clocks. Relatively new to the watchmaking industry, Ken continued his efforts to use mainly natural materials in his designs. His first wooden watch was a simple round timepiece made of Rosewood. From there, he developed the Sandalwood watch line, and soon introduced his trademark wooden bracelet watch.
