Mayonnaise from a jar? We don’t knock it. But you can make unforgettable mayo yourself with this vintage-style mixer. (Seriously, there’s a version of it in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.) Start with an egg, plus your favorite vinegar and mustard. Then slooowwwly drizzle in some EVOO while pushing the plunger up and down. (The lid design makes it easy.) After three or four minutes, the creamy consistency will tell you it’s done. Use as-is, or turn it into the best aioli or mayo-based salad dressing you’ve ever tasted. Includes traditional and vegan recipes. Made in China.
