I LOVED this kit! For those who are stating that the neck doesn't attach to the body because the piece was incorrectly made, make sure you read the manual! You have to shave some of the wood off so it fits nice and snug. It was extremely easy as long as you have a sharp knife. I just did a little at a time to make sure I didn't take too much off. The sound is great as well. If you're a beginner, know that your ukulele will have to be re-tuned very often in the beginning (whether it's expensive, cheap, diy) because the strings need to stretch out a bit. So don't fret (or think it's bad quality or that you did something wrong) if by the time you tune the last string, the first string is already out of tune! It's annoying, yes but the more you play, the less you'll have to tune it. I will be purchasing another one of these kits because I enjoyed making it so much!
I am building two ukuleles for a church fundraiser in Sept. I will send pics when I complete them.

Wanted an instrument and before paying alot for a product that would end up collec ting dust. This gave opportunity for child to make her own and then play as she desires
the kit was easy to assemble and customize with paints. the first time we strung it, the bridge popped off after a few days; the instructions were not very clear on how to attach it, after searching the internet, we found that maybe the bridge needed to be screwed to the body; I hope that's correct and will not ruin the sound or crack the body - aside from that problem, it is a beautiful uke.
Bought this as a gift for my Son-in-law who has a knack for making things with his hands. It seems like a good project for him as he and my daughter also love to play guitars and sing. I look forward to seeing his creativeness reflected in this new instrument.
My daughter was excited to receive this DIY Ukulele kit but was so disappointed when she realized that the neck would not fit the groove in the ukulele body because it was made incorrectly by the manufacturer. This was a complete waste of money.
I would have liked the option to order sandpaper and glue with the product to finish it.

Eldest grandson, for whom it was intended, loved it and immediately started playing with it. Younger grandson soon got in the mix, as did dad and mom. Kept everyone entertained for hours!
My friend was very pleased. It was a nice reminder of a good time and I think she really will learn to play!
I had bought 3 ukuleles for gifts. 1 came broken & 1 was not routed properly so it did not fit correctly. This was a gift for three little girls to do with their father as "daddy time". They were anxious to put it together so they did not want to wait for an exchange. This is unfortunate because although they have been "rigged" for the time being they most likely won't last long. It's very disappointing as its a great idea for music lovers, craft lovers & something for children to do with a parent/grandparent.
