Into the Fold
If you're anything like us, you'll probably never have the time required to master the songs, dances, or traditional instruments studied by Japanese maiko. Inspired by the beauty and ritual that surround the young geishas-in-training, jewelry designer Fernanda Sibilia created this striking statement necklace. Hand-tooled pieces of brass and copper are cut to resemble folding fans, a design invented in Japan over a thousand years ago. Then they're layered for the stylish, bohemian look that's become Fernanda's signature. They probably won't help you perform in traditional garb (or apply geisha makeup), but they will look stunning with a simple black dress. Handmade in Argentina.
