Flower Power

The branches of magnolia trees stretch from the coastal shores of North Carolina to Eastern Texas. Now, they bloom around your neck with this colorful scarf. Each is printed with one of Charlotte Stanske's original watercolor paintings. Give the silky scene to a gardener or outdoor lover for a nature-inspired touch to any outfit. Made in India.

Raised in a household of artistic expression, Charlotte began exploring at a very young age. Her father is an established watercolor painter and taught her how to paint with watercolor in grade school, but only later did she focus on the medium. While attending Columbus College of Art and Design for a BFA in Interior Design, she was able to fully dive into all forms of art – from sculpture and oil painting to pottery and photography. She embarked on a career in Interior Design in New York City and San Francisco, a profession which exposes her to visual inspiration on a daily basis and continually motivates her as an artist. Visiting friends on Martha's Vineyard and Cape Cod, she attended workshops on abstract painting and glass mosaics, which rekindled her desire to create. After Charlotte settled on the East Coast once again, a wonderful teacher brought her back to painting in watercolor, and these classes challenged her to refine her skills and develop her own style. Charlotte’s current artistic journey in watercolor painting is focused on nature. Rediscovering the northeast renewed her artistic inspiration, and she enjoys living in an area with four seasons and all of the changing colors, lights, moods and sensibilities they bring. Her style embraces both the illustrative and decorative, pattern and texture over landscape. She has expanded her repertoire by transferring her paintings onto textiles, an exciting new direction, as she continues to find new ways to share her artistic passion with the world.
