Hold the Phone
This quick-moving group game—ideal for seven or more players—takes a hands-on approach to everyone's favorite sentence-mangling pastime: telephone. Players sit in a circle, and each writes a short, benign sentence of their choosing, like "the octopus went to school," using the pens and game sheets provided. The next translates that sentence into a drawing, and the next, unable to see the original text, translates their drawing into a sentence. On you go until all seven-plus of you have had your turn to muddy the waters, at which point you unveil the final product—a playful mishmash of text and pictures—to plenty of laughs. (Think "the murmuring squid sat on the gingerbread house.") Made in China.
