Home Plate

There are sights and adventures to be found out on the road, but it's home that always calls you back. Artist Maura Jacobsen captures that duality in her inviting, handmade trays. She gives earthenware clay the imprint from vintage license plates she has collected—your choice of all fifty states is available, to celebrate your local pride, to remember a special place, or to honor someone as they start out on a new road in life. After shaping her trays, Jacobsen uses non-toxic glazes of earthy red and sky blue, like a scenic vista that you can always keep with you. Handmade in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Exclusively for UncommonGoods

Maura Jacobsen was raised in Denver, Colorado and headed north to Wyoming in 1989 where she received a degree in Art from the University of Wyoming and she never looked back. Her business started in a three room cabin, in a town of 200, with a dog named Homer. The adventure has made her who she is today.

Over the years she has slowly grown her pottery business from unique handmade pieces to promoting art throughout the state of Wyoming as an artist on the Artist Roster. Inspired by images from life, she hopes to spark a connection and a conversation with the dishes she creates.
