“I really like that I'm only recognized when I have one hand in the air holding a piece of paper in front of my camera.”

London-dwelling creative Rich McCor’s unique approach to photographing famous landmarks grew out of a desire to revamp his outlook on his own hometown. After some cursory tourist-inspired exploration, Rich took a knife to some thick black paper and created a cut-out in the shape of a wristwatch, then held it strategically in front of Big Ben for a quick-and-dirty snapshot with a bit of a twist. The rest, as they say, was Instagram history. As @paperboyo, Rich now travels the world with cut-outs and camera in hand, crafting new and improved views of familiar scenes designed to delight onlookers’ eyes—and leave the landmarks themselves intact. “Someone once described me as a non-destructive vandal,” says Rich. “It’s a pretty good description of what I do.”
