It's a cute design but not worth the money.
I must not have read the description very well, assuming that because it was $30 it was more than a block of wood. I thought you could actually plug your phone into this "dock", and that in doing so it would automatically enable the clock app. You have to feed your own charger through it and turn on the app yourself. It doesn't fit if you have a cover on the phone.
On designers website the product is flipped. http://www.areaware.com/alarmdock the one we received....once you plug in the phone to volume buttons,(alarm clock buttons) are on the bottom. One the designer website it shows the phone volume buttons (alarm clock buttons) on the top. It's strange that your website shows the product one way and the designers website shows the product the other way, I attached a link to the website. It came in the information in the box with the product.
This object was suppose to make a difference in the phone sound speaker but obviously it didnt do any difference. I just consider it a waste of money

It is a really great idea & my hubby thought it was a great gift. It just was a little smaller than I thought & doesn't fit his iPhone 5 very well. Could have a finish on it too.
All students need to charge their phones at night, and they all need an alarm clock. This solves both all in one attractive package. A practical conversation piece.

I like the retro look, clean design, and perfect utility of this clock stand! I got a nice app for my iPhone 4 so my phone is now my clock. My rugged case is a bit fat and causes the phone to stick out slightly, but I'm the only one who sees it and I don't care. I wish they had included a list of recommended apps - I paid small amounts for "alarm clock" apps that had super-duper alarm functionality and pretty graphics, but didn't "turn into" a clock face that would stay on throughout the night (as long as the phone is plugged in - which is why the stand allows for threading the charger through it). Finally found the right one for me and I've been happy with the stand/app combo.
Very well designed and constructed. Exactly as seen in the pictures. Nice weighting to the dock. iPhone 4 sits flush without a case.
This is a cool looking product that works well if you have an iPhone 4 model that you want to use without a case. I have an old 3G that I use for a clock, and even without a case it does not fit in the dock, despite what the website says. If you are looking to use this for an older model iPhone, think twice. If you want to use it to store your current model phone--sans case--at night, then it will work. Too bad, because the design is nice.
Gave this as a gift so I'm sure I haven't heard about exactly how it functions - however, the main problem is that if you want your iphone to sit (and plug in) without any gaps you can't use most phone cases unless they are super slim.
