Classics in Literature

Sometimes the classics are rooted in contradiction. In the example of this handsome protective case, handmade by English bookbinders in the style of Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace, it's a meeting of old and new. The case, designed to fit neatly over your modern electronic reader, provides lasting protection while adding a dose of Old World style and charm.

E-reader cover fits the Kindle 3, iPad cover fits the iPad 2. E-reader cover for Kindle Fire is coming soon.

Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Hans Christian Andersen's Fairy Tales, Charles Darwin's On The Origins of Species, and Einstein's Theory of Relativity.

The Manor Bindery

The Manor Bindery, created in 1976 by a group of friends with a common passion for books and fine binding, get its namesake from the Manor of Cadland, an estate once used by William the Conqueror himself. Bringing together a small team of craftsmen, expert in binding and restoring antiquarian books the company has expanded and diversified into new and interesting fields. One of which is the manufacture of false books. Some might say this is unusual but the use of false books to conceal doors, weapons and other secrets is as old as bookbinding itself. The Kindle and iPad are the perfect example of wrapping new, modern technology with the look and nostalgic feel of an antiquarian book.

Comments about IPAD & KINDLE BOOK CASE - WAR & PEACE:

I actually returned it because it was not what I thought it would be. It was very difficult to get the iPad into it, and it was just cumbersome to use. Also, I thought it would be made of a different material instead of cardboard.

Comments about IPAD & KINDLE BOOK CASE - WAR & PEACE:

I was a little worried when I read the reviews of these kindle covers. Some people really hated them. I'm not sure what they were expecting. I guess it helped that I was prepared for the cover to be cheap and flimsy.

In fact it was not cheap or flimsy. It's sturdy, and it securely holds the Kindle. It's a little too tall for my Kindle, but that doesn't keep it from being an effective case. I love that my kindle looks like a book. I think it's amusing to look like I'm reading War and Peace. The marbled paper on the inside of the cover is a nice retro touch.

I bought The Theory of Relativity for my boyfriend's kindle. the covers match but we can easily tell whose is whose. He left his Kindle at the bottom of a pile of newspapers on the dining table, and it was sitting for hours in a puddle of condensation from the pancakes at breakfast. No problem, due to the waterproofing on this cover!

      I'm satisfied with this purchase.

Comments about IPAD & KINDLE BOOK CASE - WAR & PEACE:

I thought for [$] this would be a nice cover to a kindle. Well when I got it, it was plastic laminated and very cheap looking. I was so embarressed to give it away as a gift. I thought it was going to be a nice leather looking book even if they had made it look like a hard back cover book, that would have been ok. But no!! it was shiny and very, very cheap looking. I will never order anything from this site again!!

Comments about IPAD & KINDLE BOOK CASE - WAR & PEACE:

Hmmm. Not as cool as I had hoped. Outside is very plastic-y and not book-like at all.Inside "endpages" are pretty, but laminated. I'm sure it's durable! Great idea, but way overpriced for actual product. I had expected something a lot more leather-like and classy. Read the size info carefully, does not fit Kindle Touch (my fault)

This product is in no way worth the [$] it cost. It showed up bent from the shipping and I cannot return it fast enough. I would rather spend [$] to get a better quality of present.
