These trackers help you remember when you last watered your indoor plants so you don't do them in by over or under-hydrating. Each tracker comes with six pegs to "plant" in the soil of the pot. When you water it, move the peg to show the day of the week.
Responsible Business Practices
Woodtech strives to keep a local flavor on the raw material sourcing side of things. The majority of the products we create use local art and photography of artists and photographers we have partnered with. All of our wood that we use, with the exception of plywood, is sourced from around Madison County and the North Alabama region. Wood is either reclaimed from trees that were naturally felled or needed to come down for safety reasons.
Woodtech, pays employees a starting wage of $10/hr., which falls within 10% of Madison County's living wage.
- Local (Alabama State) minimum wage: $7.25
- Federal minimum wage: $7.25
- Living wage of Madison County: $10.97
paid time off
Each full-time worker gets 1-2 weeks of vacation as well as over 10 paid holidays. Sick time and bereavement leave is granted on a case by case basis, but always granted.
recycling primary/secondary materials
They recycle all paper. All cardboard boxes used for packaging are made from 100% recycled materials. Excess wood scraps from projects are used for smaller items or given away to private woodworkers to utilize for their projects. They use environmentally friendly products, such as water based finishes, instead of oil based.
Woodtech donates anywhere from 1-3% of total sales to many charities, most of them local. Over the last 3 years they have given in kind donations to: Veteran's United, Pathfinders, New Hope Children's Clinic, Microwave Dave Music Foundation, Margarita Ball (over 17 charities for children in need), Nexus Youth & Families, Early Works Museums, & Downtown Huntsville Inc. They also offer military discounts and school discounts for Huntsville City Schools & Madison County Schools.
