The result is a rich oil laced with smoke and with a peppery finish. Drizzle it over dishes to add a kick to grilled veggies, hummus, seitan steaks, or crispy strips of tempeh bacon. Handmade in Charleston, South Carolina.

Kyle and Max met while working together at a restaurant on Folly Beach, South Carolina, and became fast friends. One night after a long shift, Kyle confided in Max his idea: hickory smoked olive oil. As Kyle admits, "I know food and Max knows machines," the duo created a cold-smoking process that preserves the integrity and nutritional properties of extra virgin olive oil while giving it a rich, smoky flavor. "We want to make simple food that's nutritious and delicious." Kyle says. "We take two simple ingredients--olive oil and smoke--and create a complex flavor that everyone can enjoy."

The flavor is hickory smoke, hence the name of the olive oil. I decided to order based on the flavor name and am very pleased with having made this purchased. I am not a gourmet cook, however, do like for my food to have a flavorful taste. I use other infused olive oil flavors; and this was one of great interest. Been using it ever since receiving the product. The aroma and flavor is very present when cooking food.

I received my first bottle of Hickory Smoked Olive Oil as a gift. I have, to date, purchased 6 more bottles. One I gave as a hostess gift to an inspired chef. I love to use it when preparing pasta with olive oil and butter; also, when grilling or frying meat, I rub the oil on the surface of the meat along with salt and pepper. The final flavor is wonderful!

I got this thinking I'd use it everyone now and again when cooking for a different taste. But after using it once, I can't stop using it whenever possible! It adds a hint of that smoked flavor that is addicting. I've used to to cook veggies and on salad as far. Will be purchasing another bottle!

This olive oil has the most amazing smoky flavor while still remaining subtle. Hard to describe, but so tasty! It is great for cooking or dipping. I'm not always a fan of flavored olive oil, but you can't go wrong with this.
