Open to Possibilities

The key to a carefree outing is keeping the right tools handy. Make quick work of bottle caps and locks with this dual-function key chain by Clark Martinek. Using ancient blacksmithing techniques, the artist pounds reclaimed iron into an industrial-looking key ring that has considerable heft, giving you extra leverage to crack open a cold one. Each palm-sized helper will change in hue over time, developing a rich patina in response to being held and handled. Hand-forged in South Dakota.

Every day, metalsmith Clark Martinek works toward finding balance in life through the tradition of blacksmithing. "I’ve always been drawn to art’s creative process, and working with metal gives me the power to harness some of the oldest art techniques known to man," he says. To create his pieces, Clark uses modern-day tools while holding true to the time-honored quality and craftsmanship of blacksmiths before him. Because iron is difficult to manipulate, working with the material demands dedication and finesse, making the results all the more rewarding.

It's awesome and I'm sure it's not going to wear out like the many aluminum openers I have had. This thing is solid, does the job first time, every time.

Comments about UncommonGoods Hand Forged Keychain Bottle Opener:

I love the idea of the hand forged bottle opener as a keychain but I didn't expect to love it so much and I use it as a loop so when I hold on my keys I hold onto it and it's just beautiful!!!! The only negative I can think of is that I wish the ring was a graphite or a copper color but since it matches my keys it's not a big deal at all it's epic!

Comments about UncommonGoods Hand Forged Keychain Bottle Opener:

This is a very attractive key chain. It is also very useful. The only negative is I find it heavy as a woman. My son doesn't mind it, but I am used to key chains with little weight to them. This does have some weight, but not extreme. Very nice item.
