Jenny Krauss began making baby and home gifts 20 years ago, but has spent the last 10 years providing work for Bolivian and Peruvian artisans, often women with exceptional skills but few options for work.
"The women are often the sole support for their families and the work they do for me has not only helped them financially, but psychologically as well. They speak to me about lack of opportunity and how meaningful it is to create something they can sell. It's a joy to visit them and see changes in their lives."
Today, Jenny lives in New York and enjoys designing new products and visiting artisans. "Office work is a drag." She travels to Bolivia and Peru to meet with artisans and to provide them with new projects. "It's important to give and empower those less fortunate. Most people don't have a lot of opportunity to better their lives, so it feels good to be able to contribute something empowering and sustainable."
