I used this very attractive item as it was intended, as a spoon rest. It was ruined after the first use. The food on the spoon washed out the finish on the spoon rest and even after cleaning, it was washed out. Very disappointing. It should only be used as a decorative item.

The item was exactly as pictured but I didn't realize the dimensions were so small. I bought it as a decorative piece so it works for me, but I'm not sure it would work all that great an actual spoon rest. The handle is very short and somewhat thin, thus the 4 stars. I wish it was a little longer and thicker on the handle to showcase the carvings more, especially for the price, but I decided to make do with it.
