Beauty Old as Time

For 270 million years, ginkgo trees have made the world a more beautiful place with their leaves like tiny Japanese folding fans. Pure green in summer and a shock of yellow in fall, their ancient foliage inspires Nancy Nelson to craft her stunning brass cuff. She paints a vibrant teal patina on each of the metal leaves, giving depth and detail to your ensemble. It"s a unique, expertly crafted gift for those who love to be spend time in nature. “Once I find that perfect object with beautiful shapes and texture, I figure out how I can transform it into a chic piece.”

Consider Nancy Nelson a nature talent scout. “I usually discover the items I cast not too far from home,” she says of the woods surrounding her West Virginia studio. “Once I find that perfect object with beautiful shapes and texture, I figure out how I can transform it into a chic piece.”

Her passion for working with metals emerged while obtaining her BFA in industrial design. After enrolling in a metalsmithing class where she made her first sterling silver ring, she was hooked and continued developing her own unique style. Modern shapes and rustic forms reflect her belief that jewelry should evoke an emotion and tell a story for every wearer.
