Krista Tranquilla's life of a maker came to be by many paths and influences. As a child she lived in the Blue Ridge Mountains surrounded by an active community of fiber artists. As a teen, she lived overseas when there was still an active tradition of local handcrafts. Her exposure at an early age to hand made goods and their makers is what planted the seeds of what she is becoming today.
Krista loves the multiple personalities that metal can take on through the process of making and in its intended end state. The same can be said for the techniques. Krista loves to combine newer technologies alongside traditional. There is so much room to successfully experiment, design and create something meaningful. Her inspiration comes from family, friends, peace of mind, getting outside, function, and irony.
