California Crunching

When Bill Waiste and Rachel Flores craft their delicious butter crunch they mix in a special ingredient: The charm of the old Pacific Ocean Park in Santa Monica. Sweet and buttery with a thrilling drop of unique flavor, you may have found a similar treat at POP among the funnel cakes and popcorn. But the duo gives this classic confection a culinary twist, mixing together surprising ingredients like rosemary and almond, rum extract and Mexican vanilla with cashews and pecans, and curry with almonds and pecans, which we think has a zing similar to gingerbread (only crunchier). Always free from peanuts, gluten, and corn syrup, the magic is whipped up in the same place that inspired it: Santa Monica.

Bill Waiste and Rachel Flores can appreciate the community vibe of Pacific Ocean Park in Santa Monica before it closed in 1967. Little did they know the salty air, rollercoaster, and sweet treats would inspire their business 50 years later. In their Santa Monica kitchen they fuse their love of food, pop culture, and community by making delectable butter crunch, a gluten-free toffee style confection with a culinary twist. It's their hope that when you savor the unique flavor combinations like rosemary, curry, and rum and vanilla, you'll transport to your favorite amusement park wherever it may be.
