Colombian artist Olga Isabel Vargas lovingly crafts each vividly colored mobile with ingenious balance for effortless, flowing movement. A simple pull and release of the string at the base creates a vision of nature at its most enchanting.

  • Constructed of medium-density fiberboard, hand-painted with nontoxic acrylic paint, and decorated with dyed tagua nuts.
  • Best enjoyed indoors. May be hung outside only in a dry area.
  • 8" wingspan.

Like many artists, Olga Isabel Vargas first pursued a more practical career?in her case, accounting. But when her daughter was born, Olga made a dragonfly mobile for her room and soon, family and friends were asking for one of their own. When she sold out of mobiles and won the best-in-show award at an art fair, Olga knew she could give up accounting. Based in Medellin, Colombia, Olga loves that her work allows her to hire local women at a fair wage?and that she gets to do what she loves all day long.
