Made in Florida

Lee Murrell has been creating copper and enamel sculptures since 1970. In his 70+ years, he has run an ice cream shop, a popular teenage hamburger hangout, and his own landscaping business. In the meantime, to relax, he took metal sculpting and jewelry making classes. His hobby became a business when he started selling his creations at arts and crafts shows. He eventually decided to focus exclusively on metal sculpture. 45 years later, he’s still at it, fashioning beautiful, lasting art. When anybody asks where he’s from, he says, “My-am-uh,” like the native he is.
