First Responder Roll
When not using fire hoses to battle blazes, full-time firefighter Jake Starr likes to sew with them. His four-alarm design for tool storage is upcycling at its most ruggedly handsome. Jake transforms retired fire hoses otherwise bound for the landfill into virtually indestructible cases featuring 9 slots for hand tools. Rolled up, this compact design keeps tools protected and organized with its nylon rescue webbing closure and trim, heavy-duty metal hardware, and an eye-catching reflective stripe evocative of utilitarian, first responder style.
Designed and handmade by Jake in Louisville, Kentucky--with the help of his trusty workhorse, a 50-year-old Pfaff 545 sewing machine.
