First Lady of Fempowerment
Author, diplomat, and human rights activist Eleanor Roosevelt was often called "the world's most admired woman" in her lifetime. One of the things she was admired for was her courage to always stand up for what she believed in. BB Becker captures Roosevelt's intrepid spirit in this handmade sterling silver pendant, which incorporates a summary of the former first lady's bold quote:
"You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do."
Taken from Roosevelt's book, You Learn by Living: Eleven Keys for a More Fulfilling Life, and engraved in the artist's wife Josephine's lettering, the message is a thoughtful reminder of strength and empowerment for yourself or an influential woman in your life. Handmade in Colorado.
