Family Ties

Sometimes all it takes is a lyric from a song, a line from a dogeared bedtime story, or a taste of your grandmother's famous pie crust to bring back memories and spark dinner table conversation at your next family gathering. Meant to be filled, shared and revisited by all members of your family for years to come, this keepsake journal is a fun, collaborative and personalized way to recount all your family traditions. From the annual soup-to-nuts holiday spread at grandma's house to your children's most beloved bedtime story, chronicle everyday and seasonal traditions.
Share ear-to-ear smiles as you cast your family in starring roles like the cook, the adventurer and the storyteller, jot down enduring nicknames and design your own coat of arms. There’s even room to document the history of heirlooms passed down from generation to generation. A memoir in the making, this journal celebrates your inner circle and all the traditions that make your clan one-of-a-kind. Hand-bound by Jason Thompson in Rhode Island.

Jason Thompson

Jason Thompson began making hand-bound books in 1991 after being inspired by one that his wife gave him as a birthday present. The original books were made with simple hand tools: a knife, bone folder, glue brush, needle and thread.

As his company grew, Thompson hired more people and moved the business to six increasingly larger studios. His wife Ilira eventually joined the team as general manager, and now, Thompson employs a team of skilled artisans who create quality albums and books from hand.
