Family Ties

Sometimes all it takes is a lyric from a song, a line from a dogeared bedtime story, or a taste of your grandmother's famous pie crust to bring back memories and spark dinner table conversation at your next family gathering. Meant to be filled, shared and revisited by all members of your family for years to come, this keepsake journal is a fun, collaborative and personalized way to recount all your family traditions. From the annual soup-to-nuts holiday spread at grandma's house to your children's most beloved bedtime story, chronicle everyday and seasonal traditions.
Share ear-to-ear smiles as you cast your family in starring roles like the cook, the adventurer and the storyteller, jot down enduring nicknames and design your own coat of arms. There’s even room to document the history of heirlooms passed down from generation to generation. A memoir in the making, this journal celebrates your inner circle and all the traditions that make your clan one-of-a-kind. Hand-bound by Jason Thompson in Rhode Island.

Jason Thompson began making hand-bound books in 1991 after being inspired by one that his wife gave him as a birthday present. The original books were made with simple hand tools: a knife, bone folder, glue brush, needle and thread.

As his company grew, Thompson hired more people and moved the business to six increasingly larger studios. His wife Ilira eventually joined the team as general manager, and now, Thompson employs a team of skilled artisans who create quality albums and books from hand.

Terribly disappointed in this product.

This was to have been a gift. I was embarrased to think that I had it mailed directly, and had I not been there to intercept it, I would have been mortified. This product is definitly not worth [$]. I have returned it to your company. If this is the quality of your products, you won't have me as a customer again.

For the price, this book is really small and really short-page wise. Not sure it is worth [$]

Fun family memories!

4

We ordered this as part of a commemorative celebration marking my parents 50th wedding anniversary. People took turns writing their own thoughts/entries, and polling others for their ideas. It was great fun for everyone. I was dismayed by the size and wish the paper size had been larger. It also would have been good to haves few blank pages for additional thoughts/photos. Overall it is a great product and provides a wonderful momento to mark our family celebration.

Shocked and AAWWWfully disappointed

1

This was a Christmas gift for a family member. I was terribly disappointed in the size of this product. I purchased it to record family traditions and photos. The journal was extremely small and only one photo could be included. There were several categories, which was nice, but for the price plus shipping (almost $40), I felt very ripped off, and could not send it back because I didn't have an alternative gift. The recipients may return it. It may have been worth $10.

Should've trusted other reviewers.

The book itself was laid out more like a children's book with very few pages. It is a super small book! I would suggest this book cost no more than $12-15.00. I will not be giving it to the recipient I had in mind, but I'll hang on to it and maybe find someone to give it to one day.

Perfect Gift

I bought this book for my soon to be Mother-In-Law. She loved it. I thought it was perfect, and was very pleased with the quality! I did think it looked a little bigger in size online, but I also don't remember paying too much attention to actual dimensions. Really great overall!

An heirloom for future family members

This was a gift for my sister-in-law who is very interested in family history and journaling for her child. She liked it very much as it elicits information not commonly recorded in traditional family history documents.

Smaller than expected

2

I thought this would be a perfect gift for my sister and fiance to document their lives, and new life together. I was shocked at how small the book actually is after looking at the pictures. It is a great idea for a book, but I would not purchase anything like this again from your company. I was disappointed.

Family Traditions for the holiday times

5

We gave this to my sister-in-law who is expecting, and she said, "Love this book!" I already planned some of the activities with the family on our own! My sister-in-law loved the ideas and she's excited to add something new to her (new) family traditions. Yes, the book is small, but good things come in small packages they say. I was fine with this size.

What a Rip-Off!

I was VERY disappointed in the size of this journal. It is TINY and very thin; an unimpressive gift on its own. I can't believe I paid so much for something so small. There are very few writing sheets, and no way to secure a picture. I was expecting a nice-sized album to record family memories. This booklet was much smaller and thinner than expected; I will be sure to read the product dimensions much more clearly going forward!
