## Geeks: We've Got Your Number

Regular numbers? Those are for amateurs. Bring your inner genius out for all to envy with a smart and stylish watch that features the equivalent notation of each number.

For nascent mathematicians and victims of the occasional memory lapse, a cheat sheet is included with each watch:
1: i is equal to the square root of -1, so i^2= -1. The absolute value of -1 is 1.
2: This represents 2 in binary code.
3: The cube root of 27
4: 11 base 3, which represents 4 in the ternary system
5: Log(20x)=2 is equivalent to 20x=10^2 or 20x=100, where x=5.
6: Euler's product formula: phi(p^k)=(p^k)(1-(1/p)), where (p^k)=9
7: This is a binomial coefficient, so with the formula n/k = (n!)/((k!)(n-k)!), n/k=7.
8: This is a natural logarithm where ln(e^x)=x, so ln(e^8)=8.
9: This summation is equal to 3(1)+3(2)=3+6=9.
10: Since clocks "wrap around" every 12 hours, the hour number starts over after it reaches 12. This is arithmetic modulo 12. 10mod12 is 10:00, and 16mod12 would be 4:00, for example.
11: B'L is Legendre's constant, which is equal to 1, so this equation becomes the square root of 121, which is 11.
12: Hexadecimal representation of 12

Initially, I loved this. My husband is a mathematician and it was for our anniversary. He loved it when I gave it to him, wore it often, and bragged to his friends about it.

Not long after the band straps started to unravel causing him discomfort. He kept wearing it (probably to show his appreciation towards to thoughtful gift) until it caused him physical pain. It's not just sitting collecting dust because of the terrible band straps.

As a MIT and Harvard grad, and now getting a doctorate in engineering, I had my eye on this watch for over 6 months, but it was only available for men, with one band style. When I came back to the site to buy it as a gift, I was delighted to see the choice of the mesh and black bands for men, which made giving as a gift easy to fit different personality types. AND FINALLY a women's version! Would like to see the band options for women too.

I definitely don't recommend this if you prefer digital watches and not having to read an analog clock. It's a great conversation starter. It's a little bulky and takes a while to get used to if you aren't used to wearing a watch or a metal strap, but it's a good size and weight.

Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was super fast! Earlier than expected so I probably didn't have to pay expedited shipping. I would only say that the circular tin container it comes in was fine, but I would have preferred a more rectangular shape or a normal watch box.
