- the maker
Raised in Haverhill, Massachusetts, artist Mark Poulin headed west to live in California. He soon discovered the Oakland Recreational Center, where he received his art education, and began sketching constantly. Now his simple line drawings are finding their way into his jewelry. "It looks like cute is here to stay!" he says.
"When I think a piece is finished, I let is sit for a couple of days without peeking at it, then I give it another look to see if I can take it further. But most times, I edit it down to simplify the piece...Less is more."
"Making the Zodiac 'cute' was a tough but fun project," he says. "With all those horned animals and crustacea, it took a few tries to make them sweet and contemporary." Mark is an Aquarius, the water bearer, which he interpreted as a bear sitting in a bucket of water. "Like most Aquarians, I can see the future."
Mark lives in Oakland, California and has an addiction to playing Facebook Scrabble. collection

Comments about ENAMEL BAND RING - WATER:
This ring was much smaller and thinner than I expected. I thought I would be receiving a ring with larger stones and much heavier metal. The ring looks so unsubstantial and not worth the price I paid, I have not even given it as the intended gift to my good friend. As this is non-returnable jewelry, I am just eating the cost and giving a different gift instead.
