Shake It, Sugar

Designed by Gregory Maitre, a French engineer who likes to both tinker and cook, this ingeniously simple whipped cream maker helps create a thick, fluffy, silky cloud of whipped cream in less than a minute (way, way faster than going to the supermarket for the canned stuff). Add heavy cream, some sugar, and a touch of vanilla or other flavoring to taste, drop in the three silicone mixing balls, and shake shake shake until it turns from liquid into—wait, is whipped cream a solid? Store the leftover whipped cream in the fridge right in the jar. (Just kidding— we all know there won't be any left over.) Made in China.

Great idea...Didn't really work


We followed instructions to the T. The best we could get was a slight fluff to the cream. It never "whipped". The balls are hard to dig out and I could picture one getting accidentally swallowed if missed. The balls are a rubbery material that is difficult to clean. It was a fun idea, but we tossed the balls after the first day and just used the jar for storage.

Only works with one kind of a cream


This product is advertised to work with any type of cream until you read the instructions where it states that UHT cream must be used and not fresh or organic creams. This seems like a big detail that should be included in the product description and there is also no explanation of what the acronym UHT stands for.
